Two killed in Tata Sumo mishap

RAJOURI, Sept 25:  Two persons were killed while two others critically injured when a  Tata Sumo vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge in remote Khwas area falling in Kotranka area of district Rajouri late last evening.

Police sources said that it was around 9.30 pm when the report about falling down of vehicle (JK-13/1425), in a deep gorge in remote area of  Gunda in Khwas was received. The vehicle was on way to Kotranka and four persons including driver were on board. It was not possible to trek down it to the deep mountainous gorge and trace vehicle and dead bodies. The police party rushed to the site at night and could reach up to them after 3-4 hours.

Two persons had died on the spot while the condition of two others was critical. The dead were identified as Opinder Sharma, son of Nek Ram, resident of Khwas and Satvir Singh, son of Sher Singh, resident of Gunda. The injured namely, Raj Kumar, son of Munshi Ram and Mohd Khaliq, son of Muneer Hussain of Gunda were shifted to Sunderbani and then to GMC Hospital, Jammu. The vehicle had turned into wreckage and broken into two pieces as it landed in nearly 300 feet deep gorge.
