JAMMU, Apr 28: Two persons were killed in a road mishap occurred in Jhajjar Kotli area of city outskirts.
According to a police official, two youths identified as Ajay Kumar (20) son of Mohan Lal and Sumit Thappa, son of Nanak Chand, both residents of Agar Jitto (Reasi), were on their way from Jammu to Udhampur on their bike when it collided with a road side hill near Jhajjar Kotli bridge.
He said the mishap occurred last night due to rash and negligent driving. “In the mishap, both the youths received serious injuries and were rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where Ajay Kumar was declared as brought dead by the doctors while Sumit Thappa also succumbed to his injuries late in the night,” he added.
The official said after postmortem, bodies of both the deceased were today handed over to their legal heirs for last rites while a case in this connection was registered at police station Jhajjar Kotli and further investigations started.
