RAMBAN, Dec 29: Two persons were killed when the Tata Mobile they were traveling in skidded off the road and plunged into gorge near Shalgadi area of Chamalwas on Jammu-Srinagar national highway, this morning.
The ill-fated vehicle bearing registration number JK14C-0334 was on its way to Udhampur from Srinagar when the driver lost control over the vehicle and it rolled down into 200 feet deep gorge near Shalgadi area of Chamalwas on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, resulting into on the spot death of two persons.
On getting information, police team rushed to the spot, retrieved the bodies from the gorge and shifted them to SDH Banihal.
The deceased were identified as Kali Dass, son of Nand Lal and Talib Hussain, son of Ghulam Rasool, both residents of Chak, district Udhampur.
After completing legal and medical formalities, the bodies of the deceased were handed over to their guardians for last rites.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Banihal Police Station and investigation started.
