RAMBAN, Sept 25: Two persons were killed while two others sustained injuries after a car rolled down near Digdole area on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway here late this evening.
Official sources said that a Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) which was on its way to Srinagar from Jammu rolled down near Digdole on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
After getting information, Army and police personnel along with Civil QRT teams rushed to the spot and launched the rescue operation.
During rescue operation, the driver of the ill fated vehicle identified as Imtiyaz Ahmed Qadri, son of Ghulam Rasool of Batpura Khanabal district Anantnag and one unknown girl were found dead on the spot.
Two children namely Mohsin Ahmed (5), son of Imtiyaz Qadri of District Anantnag and Anayat Ahmed (10), son of Mohammad Iqbal Qadri of District Anantnag were found seriously injured and have been shifted to District Hospital Ramban for treatment.
The search and rescue operation was underway when last reports were compiled.
However, a case under relevant Sections has been registered at Police Station Ramban and investigation started.
