JAMMU, May 15: Two persons were killed when the alto car they were travelling in collided with a truck near Kunjwani on Jammu-Pathankote national highway.
As per police sources, a speedily driven alto car bearing registration number JK08B-4016 collided with a truck bearing registration number JK02AD-6865 near Kunjwani, falling under the jurisdiction of Gangyal police station, resulting into serious injuries to driver of the car and one another.
On getting information, police and locals rushed to the spot and shifted the injured persons to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where doctors declared them as brought dead.
The deceased have been identified as Pitamber Bhasin (28), son of Chander Parkash Bhasin of Rehari Colony and 30-year-old Ankush Gupta (driver of the car), son of Jagdish Raj Gupta, a resident of tehsil Billawar, district Kathua.
The bodies were handed over to family members for last rites after completing legal formalities.
The truck driver identified as Partap Chand, son of Ram Singh of Kangra, Himachal Pradesh has been arrested and the truck has been seized.
A case under FIR number 63/14 has been registered at Gangyal police station and investigation started.
