Cement, iron seized; JE booked

DODA, May 15: Police today seized 180 bags of cement and 10 quintals of iron meant for developmental works by Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department from a shop in Bathri, Gandoh.
However, a case has been registered at police station Gandoh against JE of PHE Department namely Mohammad Iqbal Sheikh and others for black marketing the cement and iron meant for developmental works in Gandoh.
As per police sources, on specific inputs, police team from Gandoh police station headed by Inspector Abdul Momin under the supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Doda Mohammad Sharief Chouhan conducted a raid in a shop at Bathri, Gandoh and recovered 180 bags of cement and 10 quintals of iron dumped by PHE officials for black marketing.
The recovered consignment was meant for developmental works in Gandoh, which the PHE officials including Junior Engineer (JE) had dumped in the shop.
The cement and iron was kept in a shop owned by Abdul Rashid Gorsi and hired by Akhter Hussain, a kerosene oil dealer.
A case under FIR number 32/14 under Section 379, 409 and 120-B RPC has been registered against JE and others at police station Gandoh and manhunt has been launched to nab the accused.
