Two J&K youth held in Delhi for theft

NEW DELHI, Sept 1:
Two Jammu and Kashmir residents including a proclaimed offender have been arrested and a stolen car recovered from them, police said today.
The accused — 25-year-old Mohammad Yaseen Bhat, a resident of Ganderbal, and 29-year-old Parvez Ahmad of Baramulla — were caught by a team of police near Hans Cinema on GTK Road in Model Town, said DCP of Northwest Delhi Vijay Singh.
They were found driving a car that was stolen from Model Town area on August 23. An FIR was registered in this connection at Model Town police station, he said.
Besides the stolen car, eight master keys and one unmarked keys that they had purchased from a market in Jama Masjid area were recovered from them. Further, six bottles of a cough syrup brand were found from them and they confessed to being addicted to it, said the officer.
They also told police that they sold cough syrup, bought in large quantities from Delhi, in Jammu and Kashmir. They were staying at Kisan Bhawan in Azadpur Sabzi Mandi area.
Mohammad Yaseen Bhat is a proclaimed offender who is involved in half-a-dozen theft cases registered in Ganderbal, Sri Nagar and Anantnag in Jammu and Kashmir, he added. (PTI)
