RAMBAN, May 26: Police here today arrested two persons and recovered intoxicating drugs from them.
According to Police sources, a surprise vehicle checking Naka was laid at Nashri by cops from Police Station Batote where a car of Alto make bearing registration number JK19-5619 was stopped for checking.
Driver of the car was identified as Mohd Khursheed, son of Wazir Din, resident of Dhalwas in Ramban, presently working as a contractual employee in PDD Department. The co-passenger was identified as Mohd Suleman, son of Noor Allahi, resident of Dhalwas, Ramban.
During search of the vehicle, cops recovered 17 strips containing 10 tablets each and one strip containing nine tablets of Buprenorphine 2 mg and Naloxone 0.5 mg sublingual tablets. A total of 179 tablets were allegedly concealed inside the dashboard of the vehicle.
When questioned about the contraband, the accused persons failed to provide any satisfactory explanation and were arrested by the cops from Police Station Batote. An FIR with number 31/2026 was registered in this regard under sections 8/21/22 of NDPS Act and investigation was started.
