JAMMU, Apr 2: Police in Jammu’s Belicharana area claimed they have arrested two bootleggers and recovered 44 bottles of illicit liquor from their possession.
A police spokesperson said that during routine naka checking at 4th Bridge, a car was stopped for checking.
On search of the vehicle, he said, 44 bottles of JK Special Whisky were recovered from the possession of two persons travelling in the vehicle identified as Ganesh and Krishna Kumar of Nai Basti, Jammu.
The accused have been accordingly arrested and booked under the relevant sections of the Excise Act, he said.
Further investigation into the case is underway, he said.
