Two held for attack on Sub-Inspector in Jammu

JAMMU, Dec 15: Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested two individuals for their alleged involvement in carrying out a planned atttack on a Sub-Inspector at Gurah Morh area here on Sunday evening.
The incident took place when Sub-Inspector Nitin Khajuria, posted as Investigating Officer at Police Station Bakshi Nagar, was intercepted and attacked by a group of 4 persons, including one Rishab and another individual Munna D.
The assailants allegedly attacked him with a sharp-edged weapon and also brandished a pistol to intimidate the police officer.

The injured officer was immediately rushed to Government Medical College Jammu for treatment by the eyewitnesses, where he is undergoing the treatment.
Officials said following the incident, an FIR number 158/2025 under the relevant sections of the law was registered at Police Station Bakshi Nagar and special teams were constituted to nab the attackers.
Acting on technical and human intelligence, they said, the police teams traced two of the accused, Rishabh and Munna D to the Nikki Tawi area.
“While attempting to flee in the darkness, the duo fell and sustained injuries,” officials said.
Both were arrested and shifted to Government Medical College Jammu for medical treatment, they said.
Meanwhile, police have started further investigation into the matter to identify and apprehend the remaining accused.
