Two forest produce smugglers arrested

KISHTWAR, Dec 10: Police arrested two forest produce smugglers and recovered 13 sacks and 2 bags of banned forest produce weighing about 170 kilograms.
As per police sources, on specific information a team from Police Station Kishtwar led by SHO Inspector Abid Bukhari laid a surprise naka at Zelna area under the supervision of SDPO Atholi Vikram Singh and intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK17-9486, which was on its way to Kishtwar from Padder.
During checking, police team recovered 13 sacks and 2 bags of banned forest produce weighing about 170 kilograms and arrested two persons.
During questioning, both accused confessed about smuggling of banned forest produce.
The arrested persons were identified as Ram Loki, son of Deya Krishan of Palali Padder and Sanjay Kumar, son of Bihari Lal of Pandail Padder.
A case under FIR Number 271/2021 under Sections 379 IPC and 26 (3) Part B Forest Act has been registered at Police Station Kishtwar and investigation started.
