JAMMU, June 15: Two drug peddlers were arrested with 150 grams of opium and 80 grams of poppy straw from Satwari area here today.
A police spokesperson said that a team of Police Station Satwari led by SDPO South Sachit Sharma assisted by SHO Satwari Inspector Sumeet Sharma and incharge Police Post Belicharana SI Sugreev Kumar rounded up two suspects from a truck at Fourth Bridge, Belicharana.
“During their search, 150 grams of opium and 80 grams of poppy husk was recovered,” he said.
The accused identified as Sohan Singh of Kot Bhalwal, Jammu, and Manpreet Singh of Tallab Tillo, Jammu, have been booked in case FIR number 115/2023 under sections 8/15/17 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Satwari and further investigation taken up, added the police spokesperson.
