JAMMU, Sept 13: Two drug peddlers were arrested with 22 kilograms of poppy straw in Jammu today, officials said.
They said Raj Kumar and Pinda Kumar, both residents of RS Pura, were arrested with the consignment by a team of Police Post Nehru Market led by SDPO South, Sachit Sharma assisted by SHO Gandhi Nagar, Inspector Pankaj Sharma and incharge Police Post Nehru Market, Inspector Rohit Gandhi during routine patrolling duty at Nehru Market.
The accused have been booked in case FIR number 221/2023 under sections 8/15/25/29 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Gandhi Nagar and further investigation taken up, officials said.
