Two drug peddlers arrested with poppy straw, cannabis

RAMBAN, Dec 12: Police arrested two drug peddlers along with poppy straw and cannabis.
As per police sources, on specific information a team from Police Station Ramban laid a naka near Shan Palace and intercepted a truck bearing registration number PB07BW-3147.
During checking, police team recovered around 5 kilograms of poppy straw from the vehicle and arrested one person on the spot, who was identified as Kulvinder Singh, son of Lakhbir Singh, a resident of village Sandhra, Makhi Kalan, Taran Taran, Punjab.
Meanwhile, another team from Police Station Ramban arrested a drug peddler and recovered 1.050 kilograms cannabis from his possession.
The arrested drug peddler was identified as Kalyan Singh, son of Jarnail Singh, a resident of Ganote District Ramban.
Cases under FIR Numbers 214/2021 and 215/2021 under relevant Sections were registered at Police Station Ramban and investigation started.
The arrests and recoveries were made by PSI Rinku Sharma, PSI Madhav Sharma and PSI Waqar Beig under the supervision of SHO Ramban Inspector Sandeep Charak, DySP Headquarters Ramban Pardeep Singh Sen and SSP Ramban PD Nitya.
