SRINAGAR, Feb 9: Government today banned two doctors of Government Medical College (GMC) Baramulla from doing any private practice across Jammu and Kashmir, with immediate effect.
The action was taken against Dr Zafarullah (Assistant Professor, ENT) and Dr Shafaqat Ahmad Lone (Associate Professor, ENT) of GMC Baramulla, pending enquiry into the allegations against them regarding referral of patients from public hospitals to private hospitals for availing treatment/benefits under AB PM-JAY and AB PM-JAY Sehat Scheme and illegal up-coding of packages.
