JAMMU/SRINAGAR/ LEH, Feb 2: Two persons died of COVID-19 while 44 tested positive and 83 others recovered in Jammu and Kashmir today.
Two fatalities and 32 positives cases were reported from Kashmir valley while 12 new cases were recorded in Jammu region.
Two persons, who succumbed to the virus in Kashmir, were admitted to the hospitals. With these deaths, the toll has gone up to 1217 Kashmir.
Among 12 cases in Jammu, eight were reported in Jammu district, two Samba and one each in Udhampur and Poonch districts. Rest of the eight districts in Jammu region didn’t report any COVID cases today.
Of 33 recoveries in Jammu, maximum 19 were in Jammu district, six each Udhampur and Poonch and two in Rajouri district.
Jammu region now has 51573 Corona cases. However, there are just 136 active positives in the region as 50716 have recovered from the virus and there have been 721 casualties.
Among the fatalities, maximum 371 have been reported from Jammu district followed by 64 Doda, 57 Udhampur, 55 Rajouri, 52 Kathua, 40 Samba, 24 Poonch, 22 Kishtwar, 21Ramban and 15 in Reasi district.
Srinagar district with 456 deaths topped the COVID fatalities list in Kashmir followed by Baramulla 174, Budgam 117, Kupwara 95, Pulwama 88, Anantnag 85, Bandipora 61, Kulgam 54, Ganderbal 46 and Shopian 39.
Those who tested positive include 12 from Srinagar, 2 Baramulla, 1 Budgam, 5 Pulwama, 2 Anantnag, 9 Ganderbal and 1 from Kulgam.
As per officials figures, 26,238 positive cases including 457 deaths and 25,570 recoveries are from Srinagar, 8,121 including 174 deaths and 7,907 recoveries are from Baramulla, 7,772 including 7,624 recoveries and 118 deaths are from Budgam, 5,729 including 5,594 recoveries and 88 deaths are from Pulwama, 5,662 including 95 deaths and 5,539 recoveries are from Kupwara, 4,907 including 4,771 recoveries and 85 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,693 cases including 4,614 and 61 deaths are from Bandipora, 4,628 including 4,527 recoveries and 46 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,697 including 2,618 recoveries and 54 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,573 including 2,508 recoveries and 39 deaths are from Shopian.
The number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached 73,021 including 71,272 recoveries and 1,217 deaths.
The number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 668 including 532 from Kashmir division.
With 83 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 121,988 which is 97.83 percent of the total cases.
Meanwhile, the UT of Ladakh today reported two new Corona positive cases, both in Leh district.
Ladakh now has 66 active positive cases including 64 in Leh and two in Kargil district.
