Two die, as many injured in road accidents

JAMMU, May 4: Two persons died and as many sustained injuries in separate road accidents in Jammu District, police said.
They said one Mushtaq Ahmed (19) son of Gafoor Ahmed of Rangoora Batra sustained injuries on May 2 after an Alto car he was travelling in hit a footpath at Rangoora Bypass area.
The patient was immediately taken to Government Medical College Jammu from where he went LAMA to a private hospital on May 3, where he breathed his last today, police said.
The body of the deceased youth has been shifted to the mortuary of the hospital for conducting the post-mortem while a case under the relevant sections of the law stands registered at the concerned police station.
Meanwhile, a mother-son duo identified as Anjali Devi (60) and Bharat Bhushan (21) son of Mukund Lal suffered injuries after their scooty was hit by a Scorpio vehicle near Gurha Pattan area on the Akhnoor road today.
Both the injured were taken to Government Medical College Jammu, where the mother, Anjali Devi, succumbed to her injuries around 8:26 pm while the son was responding to the treatment when the last report poured in.
The body of the deceased woman has been shifted to the mortuary of the hospital for conducting the post-mortem and a case under the relevant sections of the law stands registered at concerned police station.
One Parav (23) son of Manoj Kumar of Nai Basti Gajansoo also suffered injuries after the scooty he was riding on collided with another scooty at Rajpura Chungi area on the Akhnoor road.
He was shifted to GMC Jammu, where he was responding to the treatment at the time of filing of this report.
