Two die, 124 test +ve in J&K; 24 in Ladakh

JAMMU/SRINAGAR/ LEH, Dec 26: One fully vaccinated person died of COVID-19 and 31 tested positive in Jammu division today while one casualty and 93 cases were reported from Kashmir valley and 24 in the Union Territory of Ladakh.
An 86-year-old man, who was fully vaccinated but co-morbid hailing from Mukherjee Bazaar Udhampur, died of COVID-19 in the Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu today taking Corona toll in Jammu region to 2197 and Udhampur district to 139.
Toll in other districts of the region include 239 in Rajouri, 153 Kathua, 136 Doda, 120 Samba, 100 Poonch, 67 Ramban, 44 Kishtwar and 43 in Reasi district.
Among 31 cases in Jammu division, 17 were reported from Jammu district, four in Ramban, three each in Rajouri and Doda and two each in Udhampur and Poonch districts.
As against 31 cases, 24 recovered from the virus.
Jammu region now has 1,26,042 Coronavirus cases. Among them, 1,23,490 have recovered from the virus while there have been 2197 fatalities and 355 active positive cases.
Out of 24 cases in the Union Territory of Ladakh, 16 were recorded in Leh district and eight in Kargil.
Ladakh now has 218 active positive cases including 153 in Leh and 65 in Kargil district.
Ladakh’s Corona count stood at 22083. Among them 21,647 have recovered while there have been 218 casualties—160 in Leh and 58 in Kargil.
Meanwhile, 93 persons today tested positive for COVID-19 in Kashmir.
Those who tested positive for the virus include 42 from Srinagar, Baramulla 11, Budgam 12, Pulwama 1, Kupwara 10, Anantnag 1, Bandipora 3, Ganderbal 11 and Kulgam 2.
Moreover, 127 Covid-19 patients recovered during the time including 103 from Kashmir.
So far, 334849 patients have recovered, leaving active case tally at 1350 including 995 in Kashmir.
