JAMMU, July 29: Two male dead bodies were found today from Ranbir Canal here at Rajinder Nagar and Muthi area of city outskirts.
According to a police spokesperson the dead body of a mentally disturbed man, who in an inebriated condition had drowned yesterday in Ranbir Canal near Pawan Ice Cream, was found this morning from the canal in Rajinder Nagar area after the flow of water in the canal was stopped at Akhnoor.
After completing medico-legal formalities, the body was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites. A case in this regard has been registered at police station Bakshi Nagar.
Meanwhile, an unknown body of a male aged about 50 years was also found this morning from Ranbir Canal in Muthi area falling under the limits of police station Domana. On getting information from locals, Domana police reached the spot and shifted the dead body to mortuary room of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu for identification and postmortem.
