JAMMU, June 11: The two-day ancient Bawa Bhair Mela concluded with religious fervor and devotion at the revered devsthaan in Block Nagrota, this evening. Organized by the Bawa Bhair Devsthaan Trust, the event witnessed massive participation of devotees from across the country.
The Mela was inaugurated by former Deputy Commissioner B S Jamwal in the presence of NMC president Subash Shastri, DBPS Chairman Advocate P C. Sharma, Trust president Balwant Singh, general secretary Ramesh Sharma and other prominent social and religious figures including Om Parkash Sharma, Kirpal Singh, Gurdas Sharma, Subash Sharma and Ritiz Khajuria.
A hawan was performed by scholars and Bawaji’s disciple, Joginder Singh, with the chanting of vedic mantras, invoking spiritual ambiance at the shrine. The Devsthaan premises also hosted multiple langars, serving meals to pilgrims.
Bawaji’s disciples from different parts of the country performed a traditional ceremonial yatra, adding a cultural essence to the religious gathering.
Thousands of pilgrims attended the Mela, seeking the blessings of Bawa Bhairdev. However, several devotees voiced concerns over the poor condition of the approach road to the devsthaan and the lack of clean drinking water facilities.
The Trust has urged the authorities to immediately approve the road construction under the PMGSY scheme to facilitate better access for pilgrims.
