Two cops, guard injured as transformer explodes

JAMMU, Sept 24: Three persons, two of them policemen, suffered burn injuries today when an electricity transformer installed in Indra Theatre complex exploded along canal road, here.
“Constables Kuldeep Kumar and Raj Kumar were on duty when the electricity transformer developed some technical snag and exploded apparently due to overheating,” a police official said this evening.
He said besides two police personnel, a guard of the Theatre namely Ravi Kumar (60) son of Shiv Ram, resident of Talab Tillo (Jammu), suffered burn injuries in the incident. All the injured were shifted to Government Medical College (GMC) and Hospital for treatment.
The condition of all the three injured was stated to be stable, the official said, adding that a case has been registered in this connection and further investigation is on.
