JAMMU, Feb 11: Bakshi Nagar police under ‘Operation Meghdhoot’ arrested two burglars and recovered stolen items from their possession.
As per police sources, a complaint was lodged by Sushil Kumar Khajuria, son of Kewal Krishan Khajuria, a resident of District Reasi with police station Bakshi Nagar stating that some unidentified persons have stolen his laptop from his car, when he visited Super Speciality Hospital to get his father examined.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 23/17 under Section 379 RPC was registered at Bakshi Nagar police station and manhunt was launched to nab the thieves.
On specific information, a team from Bakshi Nagar police station conducted several raids in different areas and finally nabbed the thieves, who have been identified as Surinder Kumar alias Sunny, son of Chhaju Ram and Sumit Sharma alias Tony, son of Yash Pal Sharma, both residents of Narwal.
On their disclosure, stolen items including five laptops, one camera, one hard disk, one mobile phone and one power bank has been recovered.
The duo were active in the areas of KC Theater, GMC, Super Speciality Hospital and PSC Office. They used to steal the valuables from the vehicles parked on the road side.
Further questioning of the accused is going on to ascertain their involvement in other theft cases.
Police team led by SHO Bakshi Nagar Inspector Ashwani Sharma and assisted by Incharge GMC police post SI Rajesh Verma made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO West Nikhil Rasgotra and SP City Dr Vinod Kumar.
