Two burglars among five held, stolen items worth lakhs recovered

KISHTWAR, Oct 4: Police today arrested five persons including two burglars and recovered stolen items worth several lakhs. With the arrest of these five persons and recovery of stolen items, police worked out three theft cases registered with Kishtwar Police Station.
A police spokesman said that, during the past several months, some unidentified thieves broke open the locks of shops and residential houses in the Kishtwar town and decamped with stolen goods.
During the course of investigation, police questioned many suspects including the habitual burglars namely Chander Parkash (19), son of Yash Paul Kumar of Chamoti Saroor, tehsil Drabshalla, district Kishtwar and Vijay Kumar (40), son of Taj Ram of Hidyal, Age 40 years.
During questioning, these burglars confessed to committing the crime and revealed that they had broken the shutters of the shops and doors of the residential houses with rods and other tools and had stolen the valuables including gold ornaments.
Police also arrested the persons to whom these burglars had sold the stolen items. They have been identified as Jaffar Hussain (21), son of Abdul Latief of Dhar Saroor, Tariq Hussain (22), son of Bashir Ahmed of Tatani Saroor and Daleep Kumar (20), son of Raj Singh of Khori Saroor.
On the disclosure of the burglars, police recovered stolen items including 1 gold necklace, 1 pair gold rings, 1 gold nose pin (nath), 1 golden maang tikka, 1 gold mangal sutra, 1 gold ring, 1 loung, 1 Sony camera, 1 LCD HCL, 2 laptops and 1 Aircel Sim card.
On recovering the above mentioned items, police solved the cases registered with Kishtwar Police Station under FIR number 176/14, FIR number 188/14 and FIR number 213/14.
All the burglary cases were worked out by the police team headed by SHO Police Station Kishtwar Inspector Sameer Jeelani and assisted by PSI Gurpal Singh, Incharge Police Post Hidyal under the supervision of SSP Kishtwar Sanjay Kotwal.
