Lakhwinder Wadali enthralls Jammuites

JAMMU, Oct 4: Sufi songs with blend of classical and current trends in music enthralled the Jammuites as Lakhwinder Wadali performed, here this evening.
Irrespective of age group, the entire audience in Zorawar Singh Auditorium of Jammu University was seen cheering the Wadali scion by waving hands and encouraging the young and  dynamic singer who has given a new shape to the Sufi songs.
“Mahia Tere Vekhan Nu Chuk Charkha Gali Bicch Dawan” and “Ajj Sajna Tera Na Le Ke Tenu Kol Bitha Ke Pini Ai, Ajj Botal Wali Nai Pini Ajj Nein Mila Ki Pini Ai” completely mesmerized the audience.
His repertoire included renditions of Sufi Saints, romantic folk numbers, Ghazals and bhangra with Alaaps and Taans as the vital aspects of his music.
The programme was organized by EYE (Entrepreneur Young Engineers), a newly launched event management company of Suri Brothers while the show was sponsored by The   Vilas and powered by Shakti TMT Saria and TawiArc.
Shantmanu, Divisional Commissioner Jammu, was chief guest on the occasion while Rakesh Gupta, president of the Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industries, and social activist Vikram Malhotra were the guests of honour.
The extensive training in classical music was evident in performance of Lakhwinder Wadali, who is son of renowned Sufi Qawwal Puran Chand Wadali.
Amidst repeated applause, the audience was in dancing mode as the show proceeded with one after another Sufi songs and romantic folks numbers like “Tera Tumba Bole”, Aaja Be Mahi Tenu Akhan Udikdiyan”.
“Aaja Yaar De Didar”, Ishq Di Manzil Door” and Jugni numbers completely thrilled the packed auditorium with repeated demand for more by the audience. A few among the over enthusiastic audience were seen dancing in front of the stage on the songs of Lakhwinder Wadali.
The Divisional Commissioner honoured Lakhwinder Wadali while Annil Suri, president of Bari Brahmana Industries Association felicitated the special guests by presenting them mementoes.
