JAMMU, Oct 17: Police rescued two bovine animals and arrested a smuggler from Jekhani Chowk, falling under the jurisdiction of Udhampur Police Station.
As per police sources, on specific information, police party from Udhampur Police Station laid a naka near Jekhani Chowk and intercepted a load carrier late last night.
During checking, police recovered two bovine animals and arrested the driver of the vehicle, who has been identified as Faqir Ali, son of Hussain Ali, a resident of Kheri, district Udhampur.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Udhampur Police Station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Udhampur Police Station Mahesh Sharma made the arrest under the supervision of DSP Headquarters Gourav Mahajan and SSP Udhampur Suleman Choudhary.
