JAMMU, Aug 18: Jhajjarkotli Police foiled a bovine smuggling attempt and rescued two animals being transported in a Mahindra load carrier (JK02DJ-4017).
The vehicle, intercepted by a team led by SHO Jhajjarkotli, was found carrying the bovines in inhumane conditions without mandatory permission from the District Magistrate. The driver, identified as Mohd Munshi of Jhiri, Tehsil Marh, Jammu, has been booked.
Police have seized the vehicle and registered a case under FIR Number 107/2025 U/S 223 BNS, 11 PCA Act at Jhajjarkotli Police Station. Investigation is underway.
