KATHUA, Mar 8: Kathua Police arrested two bovine smugglers, rescued five bovine animals and seized the truck in which they were being smuggled at Berian Pattan near here today.
According to police, a truck number JK14A 7957 was intercepted at Ravi outer road (Berian Pattan) which was on way to Kashmir from Punjab and rescued five cattle and arrested two bovine smuggler.
The arrested bovine smugglers were identified as Rayaz Ahmad resident of Nagrota and Salim Khan resident of Ram Sau.
Police has initiated the proceeding under Section 188 RPC.
According to the sources, people also protested over the increasing bovine smuggling and added two more trucks with bovine animals crossed the area before the arrival of the police.
