UDHAMPUR, May 9: In separate cases, Udhampur police today arrested two bootleggers and seized illicit liquor from their possession.
Krishan Singh of Pakhlai was arrested from Lal Chowk Udhampur and 30 pouches of 250 ml J&K Excise (Desi Whisky) were seized from his possession. He was smuggling the liquor pouches for their illegal sale in his native village Pakhlai, In this connection, a case under Section 48A Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Udhampur.
Panchari Police seized 20 litres lahn and one and half bottles of illicit liquor from village Sadal in Panjar. The accused was identified as Sham Lal of Sadal Panjar. A case under Section 48A Excise Act has been registered in this connection at Police Station Panchari.
