Two bootleggers held

Srinagar, July 31: Police have arrested two bootleggers and recovered illicit liquor and beer tins from their possession in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
A police spokesman said that during routine checking, police intercepted a sumo vehicle bearing registration number JK15-2243 at Champazpora village of Ajas in Bandipora district.
“On checking, 3 bottles of liquor and 70 tins of beer were recovered from the possession of Mehraj Ahmad Tantray and Bilal Ahmad Rather,” he said, adding that a case under FIR number 94/2017 under section 48 Excise Act was registered and investigation was taken up.
