JAMMU, Mar 24: Two persons were arrested along with over 11,000 litres of kerosene oil from Suketar area, falling under the jurisdiction of Jhajjar Kotli Police Station.
As per police sources, on specific information, a police team led by SDPO Nagrota Mohan Lal Sharma and assisted by SHO Jhajjar Kotli Inspector Shoket Hussain conducted raid on Government Kerosene Oil Depot in Suketar area and apprehended two persons including a truck driver along with 11,304 litres of kerosene oil.
From the spot, police team seized the kerosene oil and a truck, in which the accused were filling the kerosene oil.
The arrested persons have been identified as Chaman Kumar, son of Bodh Raj, a resident of Floura, Jhajjar Kotli and Fiaz (truck driver), son of Shah Zaman, a resident of Nagrota.
The kerosene oil was meant for public distribution and Chaman Kumar was black marketing it, sources said, adding that the recovery of over 11,000 litres of kerosene oil clearly indicates about the involvement of officials from Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) Department.
A case under FIR Number 35/19 under section 3/7 Essential Commodities Act has been registered at Jhajjar Kotli Police Station and investigation started to unearth the persons behind this illegal trade.
