JAMMU, Sept 26: Police arrested two persons along with large quantity of illicit liquor.
As per official spokesman, a team from Police Station Reasi led by ASI Bhibushan Singh during patrolling in IRP Chowk intercepted a person, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police team recovered 40 quarters from the possession of the person and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Bitu Singh, son of Pritam Singh of District Reasi.
A case under FIR Number 114/2020 under section 48 (a) Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Reasi and investigation started.
Meanwhile, on specific information, a team from Ramban Police Station laid a naka and intercepted an Eco car bearing registration number JK19-8776.
During checking, police team recovered 40 quarters and 5 bottles of illicit liquor from the possession of the driver and arrested him.
The arrested driver was identified as Rajinder Singh, son of Puran Singh of Gaam District Ramban. He is owner of a dhaba.
A case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Ramban and investigation started.
Police team lead by SHO Ramban Pardeep Sharma made the arrest under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Ramban Rajinder Singh Chib, Additional SP Ramban Sanjay Parihar and SSP Ramban Haseeb-ur-Rehman.
