JAMMU, May 6: Pounichak police arrested two persons and recovered illicit liquor from their possession.
As per police sources, on specific information about production of illicit liquor, a team from Pounichak Police Post conducted raid in Akalpur area.
During the raid, police team arrested two persons and recovered 5 litres of illicit liquor from their possession. Around 80 litres of lahan was also destroyed on the spot.
The arrested persons were identified as Janak Raj, son of Bisham Dass of Patneyal and Pancham Singh, son of Suraj Singh of Akalpur.
A case under relevant sections of law has been registered against the arrested persons at Domana Police Station and investigation started.
Police team led by Incharge Police Post Pounichak SI Varuneshwar Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Domana Inspector Chanchal Singh, SDPO Domana Kosheen Koul, SP Rural Suram Singh and SSP Jammu Sridhar Patil.
