Two arrested with huge quantity of hashish: SP ANTF

JAMMU, Sept 27: Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), a specialised unit of Jammu and Kashmir Police to check the rising menace of drugs, arrested two drug peddlers along with huge quantity of hashish.
As per SP ANTF Vinay Sharma, on specific input about smuggling of hashish in a truck bearing registration number JK05-G8000 from Sopore, Srinagar to Jammu, ANTF launched a search operation for the said truck which was found parked near transport yard Narwal.
“On thorough checking, ANTF sleuths recovered around 26.580 kilograms of hashish from the truck and arrested two persons, who were identified as Ghulam Geelani Khan, son of Mangta Khan and Basharat Ahmad, son of Noor Alam, both residents of Pehli-pura, District Baramulla”, SP ANTF said, adding that the arrested narcotics smugglers was carrying the contraband for delivery outside the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
A case FIR Number 13/2022 under section 8/20/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station ANTF Jammu, SP Vinay Sharma said, adding that the investigation is at initial stage and ANTF is investigating the forward and backward links of this consignment and more arrests are expected.
