UDHAMPUR, Dec 19: Chenani Police arrested two persons along with three quintals of poppy straw.
As per police sources, a team from Police Station Chenani during checking intercepted a truck bearing registration number HP72B-7537.
During checking, police team recovered 300 kilograms of poppy straw packed in 19 plastic bags from the vehicle and arrested the driver along with his associate.
The arrested persons were identified as Mudat Kumar (driver), son of Tek Chand, a resident of District Una Himachal Pradesh, at present Ravi Dass Nagar, Hoshiarpur, Punjab and Sohan Singh, son of Sehdev Singh of District Una, Himachal Pardesh.
A case under FIR Number 161/2021 under Section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Chenani and investigation started.
