Two arrested for smuggling bovines

JAMMU, Jan 17: Two persons were arrested for smuggling bovines to Valley.
As per police sources, on specific information, police team from Jhajjar Kotli police station laid a naka and intercepted a Srinagar bound Tata Mobile bearing registration number JK18-8838.
During checking, police rescued 4 bovine animals from the vehicle and arrested two persons, who have been identified as Shokat Ahmed Bhat, son of Ghulam Hassan Bhat and Asif Ahmed, son of Ghulam Hassan, both resident of District Kulgam, Srinagar.
A case under FIR Number 8/16 under Section 188 RPC and 3/5 PCA Act has been registered at Jhajjar Kotli police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Jhajjar Kotli police station Inspector Ravinder Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Bharat Bhushan Sharma, SP Rural Rajiv Pandey and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
