Turban-Up event held

JAMMU, May 14: Harjas Ad World and Khalsa Aid in association with Wave Mall Jammu organised a Turban-Up event at Wave Mall, here.
At the event beautiful colored turbans were tied and distributed among the visitors along with the Message “Celebrating Equality; The Turban Way”.
The Sikh turban has a long history of bravery, valour and sacrifice and I is also a symbol of equality and sovereignty.
The event aimed at making people aware of the importance of turban in Sikh faith and also about the worldwide discrimination against the Sikh turban, especially in the country France where Sikh turban is banned.
On the occasion, the Sikh volunteers tied beautiful colored turbans and the visitors clicked pictures holding the placards of royalty, justice, courage, dignity and purity. There was also a testimonial section where people expressed their feelings after wearing the turban.
The testimonial section had creative backdrop depicting names of Sikh personalities and their contribution towards society.
The Sikh volunteers, who worked tirelessly in making the event successful, were Amandeep Singh, Spinder Singh, Kanwal Singh, KaramJeet Singh, Harpreet Singh, Simrandeep Kour, Jaswinder Singh, Kiranpreet Kour, Parul, Harneet Kour, Jaipreet Singh, Gursharan Singh, Amand Singh, Mandeep Singh, Gurmeet Singh, Harveer Singh, Roop, Harvinder Singh, Jatinderpal Singh and Gurleen Singh.
