JAMMU, May 6: Director CAPD Jammu G S Chib has placed TSO Mendhar Abdul Khaliq and storekeeper Abdul Kabir under suspension for their alleged involvement in the ration scam in Mendhar sub division of district Poonch. The action has been taken after the Mendhar police seized 296 bags of Atta, rice and sugar being unloaded at private shops which was actually meant for CAPD consumers from Gursai and Harni areas two days back. A salesman Fazal Hussain, who was arrested by police along with driver has already been placed under suspension. Director CAPD Jammu when contacted confirmed that both the TSO Mendhar who is under transfer to Kalakote and the concerned storekeeper of the department posted at Mendhar store have been suspended pending inquiry. He disclosed that Assistant Director, CAPD Poonch, Harpal Singh is conducting departmental inquiry. One week time has been given to the inquiry officer to complete the work. Today, Harpal Singh visited Mendhar office of CAPD and stores and recorded the statements of the officials and others. He also procured record and started inquiry. The police had seized a truck while unloading ration from the spot near Gursai while the other truck which had sped away was also later traced.
