Trump lashes out at Pope for criticising US actions in Iran

NEW YORK, April 13: US President Donald Trump lashed out at Pope Leo XIV, saying he doesn’t need a pontiff who opposes his policies.

The Pope has criticised US actions in Iran. Specifically, he called US threats against the Iranian people unacceptable. In early April, following US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth’s call for prayer for military personnel, the Pope stated in a sermon that the desire to dominate was not consistent with the path of Jesus Christ.

“I don’t want a Pope who thinks it’s OK for Iran to have a Nuclear Weapon. I don’t want a Pope who thinks it’s terrible that America attacked Venezuela, a Country that was sending massive amounts of Drugs into the United States and, even worse, emptying their prisons, including murderers, drug dealers, and killers, into our Country. And I don’t want a Pope who criticises the President of the United States because I’m doing exactly what I was elected, IN A LANDSLIDE, to do,” the US leader said on TruthSocial.

The president also stated that “Leo wouldn’t be in the Vatican” if he, Trump, weren’t in the White House.

Trump also called on the Pope to stop pandering to “the Radical Left” and “focus on being a Great Pope, not a Politician.”
