RAMBAN, Apr 8: Batote Police arrested a trucker along with 11 kilograms of poppy straw.
As per police sources, on specific information a team from Police Station Batote led by SHO Inspector Ranjeet Singh Rao laid a naka at Nashri and intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK14E-4115.
During checking, police team recovered 11 kilograms of poppy straw from the vehicle and arrested the driver, who was identified as Manish Kumar, son of Mangat Ram of Kirmo Tehsil Ramnagar District Udhampur.
During sustained questioning, the accused confessed that he was illegally transporting the contraband substance towards Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 33/2021 under Section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Batote and investigation started.
