JAMMU, Mar 23: J&K State Truck Owners Association has alleged favouritism in e-tender of CAPD ration supply in the State by the concerned department.
In a meeting of the Association held here today under the chairmanship of AR Lone ( general secretary), the members alleged that tough conditions framed for the tender to transport ration by CAPD seems to be an act to favour blue eyed transporters. They said the condition of Rs 50 crore business turn over and 50 owned vehicles have been imposed just to keep other transporters away from the tender process.
They pointed out that these conditions are unjustified and mollified because the fact is that volume of work with CAPD is just worth Rs 30 crore and as per MV Act there are only 10 vehicles required for getting service license for carrying transport business. They said during 2015 CAPD had allotted similar work in Kishtwar district to a person who was not even transporter. This exposes the real intentions of the Govt, they maintained.
