SAMBA, May 9: The driver of the truck had a narrow escape when the vehicle loaded with fodder gutted in fire at village Plah Morh area of Samba district today.
According to the reports, the incident took place this afternoon, when a truck bearing registration number JK02AQ- 4911 loaded with fodder and halted in Plah Morh area of Samba district to unload it. The driver had just come down of the truck when suddenly the flames came out from it. As the local people saw the flames coming out from fodder, they immediately went to spot tried to douse the fire but it was not controlled. So the people informed to police.
After getting the information SHO Samba, Suraj Pathania along with team reached on the spot and they also informed the fire tender which too reached on the spot and controlled on fire. But the truck was completely destroyed in the fire. The incident was cause of short circuit.
Truck driver Jaswinder Singh told that the truck was half unloaded, when flames started to come out of it and soon the entire truck caught the fire. “The people and I informed the police and the fire brigade to douse the fire, but by that time the fire brigade arrived, most of the truck had burnt” , he added.
In this regard police has taken cognizance of the matter and started further investigation.
