LEH, May 9: The Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, R K Mathur was today visited by Stanzin Lakpa, Councilor Cha of Kargil District, who presented him a memorandum with some demands of Zanskar area.
The Councilor thanked the administration of UT Ladakh for their efforts in containing the spread of COVID-19 in the region. He also appreciated the Zanskar Administration for their dedication and hard work in managing the present crisis.
Zankar at present has no positive cases of COVID-19 and as a precautionary measure the Councilor requested for filling up of the vacant posts in CHC Padum and other medical centres in Zanskar and to provide sanitizer, masks and ventilator. He also requested the LG to consider evacuation of stranded people of Zanskar in Kullu Manali through Lahaul and to reopen the Darcha-Padum Road via Shingula Pass.
