Trolley loaded with 60 bags of smuggled MES cement seized

NOWSHERA, June 9: A Tractor trolley loaded with 60 bags of cement allegedly smuggled from a `Central Govt local depot’ was seized by Army troops in Lam area of Nowshera sector last night.
Official sources said that troops of 54 Rashtriya Rifles, during naka on the road in the farward area of Lam, intercepted a Tractor trolley and signaled the driver to stop last night, however, the driver and his associate managed to escape taking advantage of darkness, leaving behind trolley.
The Army took the trolley into its custody and informed Commanding Officer of the Unit. Today morning, after investigation at own level, the Army handed over the Tractor trolley along with cement to Nowshera Police Station. A case FIR No. 130/ 2023 has been registered in this connection.
Though SHO and other police officers at Nowshera were tight lipped over the issue, however, sources told Excelsior that this cement had been smuggled from a GREF location. The police said to have started investigation into the matter. It has been learnt that both the persons who escaped leaving behind Tractor trolley have been identified as Manzoor Hussain , son of Mir Hussain from Jajote Kango village in Lam and Mohd Ayaz, son of Mohd Khan, resident of Pukharni village closer to LoC. The police was looking for absconding accused persons.
