Sir,
The news item-provided me an opportunity to know the man, philanthropist behind the Home for Aged, located at Ambphalla.
Prabhakar seems to have studied the society at that time very well. It may have dawned upon him that some old aged people, and infirm are not taken care of at their homes, or there may be people who have no where to go due to domestic problem and they should be provided care and shelter during their hour of crisis.
Hats off to this person for starting this house-where one does not know how may people have found peace and protection so far.
This man should serve as an example at a time when many more such houses need to be built in the City of Temples.
People have been voicing their concern over the plight of oldies in most of the house-holds. Due to changing socio-economic complexion of our societies and floundering joint family system, our senior citizens are facing many problems. They deserve a place where they can pass their days peacefully.
The NGOs working for welfare of old aged people must open more such houses in the city, as was opened by Prabhakar.
Yours etc….
Amit Kumar
