Tributes paid to Gen Bikram Singh on 56th death anniversary

JAMMU, Nov 23: On 56th death anniversary of General Bikram Singh, rich tributes were paid to the martyr as a simple programme in this regard was organized by General Bikram Singh Yaadgar Committee, here today.
General secretary of the Yaadgar Committee, S Gajan Singh said that General Bikram Singh was a renowned personality of Indian Army who attained martyrdom in an air crash on November 22, 1963 in Poonch sector while on his mission for planning secrecy of the Army and accompanied by other four Generals.
Gajan Singh said that General Bikram Singh was a dedicated personality who used to visit the Army canteens to see the quality of the food being served to the Army personnel as he was of the opinion that if the soldiers are strong, health of the Nation will be strong.
Among those, who paid their tributes to Gen Bikram Singh, included Rajiv Mahajan, S Rajinder Singh, S Sukhminder Singh Maini, Ved Gandotra, R C Puri and others.
