JAMMU, Oct 27: Rich tributes were paid today to Shaheed Deputy Superintendent of Police, Devinder Sharma and Head Constable, Gurbachan Singh of J&K Police (JKP) on their 16th Balidan Diwas at Shaheed Deputy SP Devinder Sharma Chowk in RS Pura.
They were martyred on October 27, 2001 while fighting against terrorists at Katli in Kathua district. IGP Jammu, SD Singh Jamwal, was the chief guest on the occasion. He paid floral tributes to Shaheed Devinder Sharma’s statue.
Family members of Shaheed Deputy SP were also present on the occasion. They remembered the martyr with wet eyes and saluted him for his supreme sacrifice.
Besides, ex-MLA, Garu Ram Bhagat and Bushan Dogra, Vice President, SC/ST Development Board, were also present and paid floral tributes to the martyr.
The function was organized by Lions Club RS Pura in collaboration with Police Department.
