Tributes paid to Dr Ambedkar

JAMMU, Dec 6: Various political, social and other organizations paid rich tributes to the architect of Indian Constitution Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar on his death anniversary across the State today.
The day was observed as the `Nirman Diwas’ by some organizations and held various programmes in this connection. They all highlighted the achievements and services of the Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar for the country and the poor and down trodden community.
All India Backward Classes Union- Social organised a programme here today and paid tributes to Dr Ambedkar. Senior members Abdul Majid, M R Bangotra and Prof Kali Dass addressed the gathering and highlighted the services of Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar. They pointed out that before independence there were no rules of equality because of the ordained system encouraging slavery. Dr Ambedkar emancipated `Shudras’, the fourth Verna (lowest) of the Chaturvarna system from the shackles of the discrimination done by the caste considered themselves to be superior.
ABVP Jammu University unit also observed death anniversary of Dr Ambedkar as social equality day. Various programmes were held in Law School, Education Department, Biotechnology and Central Library. Pulkit Churangoo, president of ABVP Jammu University wing threw light on the life and achievements of Dr Ambedkar. Parvail Parihar secretary and Daleep Singh- convenor also spoke on the occasion.
Jammu University SC/ST Employees Association led by R L Kaith also paid tributes to Dr Ambedkar in yet another function organised in the campus here today. The speakers while addressing the gathering threw light on the contributions of Dr Rao for the upliftment of his community and also for the country. Surjeet Singh Heer, D R Nandan, Dharam Pal and Milkhi Ram also spoke on the occasion.
To commemorate the 61st `Mahaparinivan Diwas’ of Bharat Ratan Dr B R Ambedkar, BJP Anusuchit Jati Morcha organised a special programme at Shaheed Bhagat Amarnath Park near Civil Secretariat here today.
BJP vice president YV Sethi was the chief guest and MLA Khour Krishan Lal Bhagat presided over. Senior members of the Morcha including Surinder Bhagat and Bansi Lal Choudhary were also present. They paid rich tributes to Dr Ambedkar and highlighted his achievements.
Senior BJP leaders N D Rajwal, Jeet Angral, Dr M L Rao and Ayodhya Kumar also paid rich tributes to Dr Ambedkar in yet another prohramme organised in Tatab Tillo Mandal today.
