Tribute to Vivekananda

Sir,
The Yearlong Celebrations of 150th Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, the Warrior Saint stand concluded with ground level Pushpanjali programmes organized locality wise throughout the country. The organizers of this anniversary event of the hard core patriot and true spiritual icon deserve thundering applause for this herculean effort to deliver and disseminate the inspirational teachings and experiences of Swami Ji at the door step of masses for whom he not only deeply meditated but relentlessly worked and launched number of initiative through dedicated band of his disciples for educating the women and poor who remained neglected to the hilt and the country  remained deprived of their inherent and cumulative physical as well as moral strength in the process of national reconstruction and rejuvenation. Revered Swami Ji undertook a wide spread study  tour of the whole country to  take stock of the conditions of common masses and the poor who hardly could manage to have two square meals a day. The country at that point of time was bleeding through the nose under British slavery.
Vivekananda after having apprised himself of the prevalent socio economic conditions sat in silence and carried out deep meditative penance for three days at a huge rock amidst the sea in Kanyakumari, received a divine call from his Guru Ram Krishna Paramhans to proceed abroad to communicate his message across the world through his historic address in the Parliament of world religions wherein he successfully delivered the message of universal brotherhood and mutual tolerance and respect for all religions. The religious top brass drawn from the entire world at Chicago got moved to the extent that a wider consensus emerged that India deserve to be relieved from colonial rule.
In the opinion of Swami Ji, a great sin had been committed in our country in the form of “gross neglect of the masses” which subsequently became instrumental in our downfall. He also identified two great evils in India “Trampling on the women and grinding the poor through caste restrictions.’ The fact is that we have not yet got rid of these evils. The true Tribute to Swami Vivekanand shall be to unleash organized effort for eradication of these evils which would ultimately facilitate the realization of Swamiji’s dream of united and strong India.
Yours etc…
