MENDHAR, Apr 23: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) Pirpanjal Zone president, Javed Ahmed Rana today lauded the role of Animal Husbandry Department (AHD) in the success of Milk Village Scheme in villages Behra and Dharana in Tehsil Mendhar.
Addressing public gatherings in Mendhar today, senior NC leader said that AHD deserves kudos for timely utilizing Rs 1 crore sanctioned by the Tribal Ministry for establishing Dairy Units under the Milk Village Scheme in Behra and Dharana villages. He appreciated Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, Secretary, J&K Tribal Affairs Department under whose directions such schemes have been fully implemented in letter and spirit.
Rana said that due to hollow policies of BJP led government at the Centre, the youth of J&K are facing immense problems. In view of lack of employment opportunities, the youth of Tehsil Mendhar should come forward and take benefit of such schemes for their future, Rana added.
Meanwhile, the former MLA expressed resentment against the lapse of Rs 10 crore sanctioned by Tribal Ministry for Model Villages namely Chhungan and Kalaban in Tehsil Mendhar. He alleged that the funds have collapsed due to indifferent attitude of the concerned officials of the District Administration.
Despite efforts made by Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Rana said that the funds could not be utilized due to callous attitude of the sectoral officers. He mentioned that the Sarpanchs and Panchs of both the villages have already approved the plan for Model Villages.
He demanded probe and setting up of accountability of those who took the things for granted in the matter as this has led to colossal loss the community which was to be benefitted through the utilisation of the aforesaid funds.
The NC leader said that it is unfortunate that the concerned Ministry has released the funds well in time but the District Administration miserably failed to utilize the same. Chief Animal Husbandry Officer was also present during the events at Behra and Dharana villages.
