SAMBA, Sept 19: Transport Department Samba challaned several vehicles during inspection on the main road in Ghagwal and seized four vehicles running without papers. Among the seized vehicles included two Dumpers and two Scooties which were running without papers.
In compliance to the orders of the administration, the Transport Officer challaned a large number of vehicles in the various routes of the district. Several vehicles parked on various roads which were running without papers were challened.
ARTO, Rehana Tabassum also conducted an inspection of vehicles plying on various routes in the district to ascertain that the drivers are not violating the MV Act. The ARTO said that the drivers and owners of vehicles operating illegally will be dealt under law and no leniency will be shown to any one.
The action of the Transport Department has worried the operators plying their vehicles without papers. At the same time, the Traffic Police cannot escape its responsibility as vehicles without papers are running fearlessly on the roads of Samba, said the local residents. In such a situation, if the vehicle operating without documents meet an accident then who will be responsible for it asked the people?.
At the same time, complaints of overloading in most of the vehicles plying on link routes are also received, they added.
